Armin Cruz’s Career Success


Armin Cruz has a high respect for education as he believes that it is vital to the success of business operation and personal success. He also strives to live by in the words of W. Edwards Deming “It is not enough to do your best; you first know what to do, and then do your best”. 

Armin Cruz has earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas, at Dallas, and a Master in Business from the University of Phoenix with a 3.75 GPA. In addition, Armin Cruz possesses a Black Belt in Six Sigma and is currently enrolled seeking an Advanced/Master Certificate in Business Process Design.

Armin’s mastering of these topics offered the framework to excel both personally and professionally.  The program proved very challenging and demanding; however, those that earn an MBA learn the fundamentals of end-2-end business operations.  Because of this, Armin possesses the skillset/acumen to achieve top performance results in a variety of functional roles.  The MBA equips the graduate with the functional knowledge to understand several cross-functional aspects affecting large and complex business operations.

Finally, Armin is also mastering a new trend within operational circles through Business Process Management (BPM). BPM incorporates proven strategies in a process-oriented environment focusing on breaking the barreirs between silos of business.  A few of the key concepts behind BPM is the importance on a defined process and the critical nature it delivers.  Incorporation of critical to quality customer driven metrics, and the integration of a singular accountable process owner.  If used properly, BPM crosses the silo effect by integrated the use of Six Sigma, innovation, change management and the previously principles to deliver world-class results on a balanced scorecard. 

Armin Cruz was promoted to Officer, Banking Center Manager (BCM) for outstanding performance in the mortgage sales and origination field.  As a BCM, Armin Cruz’s challenge was to integrate cross-functional sales routines, operations management, as well as drive associate and customer pleasure. In addition, Armin Cruz Armin was challenged with the center’s performance rating, ranking worst in the market.

Armin Cruz’s leadership routines mitigated operational risks, and internal audits of the process provided a quantitative scoring of the results.  Finally, Armin’s team tied for first place in customer delight.  In short, Armin’s tactics to leadership and performance created a keystone structure the executives in the market aimed to mimic and replicate.  Because of this performance, Armin Cruz was subsequently promoted to Assistant Vice President, Banking Center Manger II.

Through the leadership tactics and strategies, Armin led the team to a top performer ranking, and through the mentorship ensured it remained there for several years.  Concurrently, Armin also mitigated the risks and performance gaps at the market critical banking center.  This team was currently ranking in the top 10 overall, however, was ranked very poorly in sales.  Armin created a similar approach, but because of the existing skillsets with the team abbreviated the time tables.  Armin created a goal to catapult the team to the top three overall and number 1 in sales within 90 days. 

Armin Cruz created a sales strategy, while also mitigating legal jeopardy with the new team.  Within weeks, the team showed new life, and passion for performance.  Through engagement (balancing accountably with motivation to drive success) Armin has proven that leadership drives performance, and breaking milestones and records is possible in any market condition, and with any team.  The key is leadership, and embracing the power of your team.
